Redmi 5A Isn’t Truly ” Desh Ka Smartphone “

Redmi 5A Launched Starting At 4,999 Rs – But It Isn’t A True ” Desh Ka Smartphone “

As most of the sources excepted that the Xiaomi’s ” Desh Ka Smartphone ” would be none other than Redmi 5A ,it is now all clear. Today Xiaomi India has launched their new budget friendly device the Xiaomi Redmi 5A with some great specifications at such an amazing price tag. But instead of having great features it isn’t really a ” Desh Ka Smartphone “.

Redmi 5A Specifications :-

  • 5″ HD Screen (720*1280 pixels) with 294 ppi
  • Snapdragon 425 Processor Along with Adreno 308 GPU
  • 16GB and 32GB of Internal storage (both expandable upto 128GB)
  • 2GB and 3GB RAM
  • 13MP rear camera with F/2.2 aperture
  • 5MP front camera with F/2.0 aperture
  • 3,000 mAh Battery
  • Android 7.1.2 Nougat along with MIUI 9

redmi 5a specifications price 4999

The phone includes no Fingerprint scanner or Compass Sensor, Gyroscope Sensor. The pricing of this phone is quite interesting. The 32GB variant Redmi 5A will cost 6,999 Rs. However the 16GB variant will cost 4,999 Rs. for the first 5 Million units. Later it will be increased to 5,999.

Clearly Xiaomi is trying to replace Redmi 4A with this one. The specs are almost the same. The pricing of the lower end is very smart and quite unbeatable. But this is why it isn’t a “Desh Ka Smartphone”. You can call a phone as this when it costs under 5,000 Rs. If this phone was launched specially targeting the rural areas and for the poor people then it should have costed 4,999 Rs. for lifetime. Cause Xiaomi phones do get sold in seconds. And the poor people in rural area don’t even have the access to the Internet. So even if this phone was made offline only then it could have been the “Desh Ka Smartphone”.

Let us know what do you think about Redmi 5A specifications and price. The phone will be available via Flipkart and Mi and from selected offline stores from 7th December.

  1. I think that as many companies are getting great response from India they will tend to set up offline stores… You can take example from moto hubs..First, the motorola phones were only available on flipkart then on amazon and now offline too
