To conduct this test, Airtel has used Dynamic Spectrum Sharing Technology. This allows them to get 5G speeds over the existing neutral spectrum in mid-bands (1800/2100/2300 MHz) and sub-GHz bands (800/900 MHz). That means, with the same spectrum block, they can operate both 4G and 5G services. In future, after the actions of 5G spectrums in India is done, Airtel is confident to deliver even better and true 5G experience.
Airtel is claiming their 5G network to deliver 10x speeds, 10 times lesser latency and 100x concurrency when compared to existing technologies. In their test in Hyderabad, users were able to download a full size movie using the Airtel 5G in just a few seconds.
